LEBANON – Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, August 26 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel for Mr. Jackson, 79, of Lebanon.
Known as "J.C." to his friends and family, the US Navy veteran died Aug. 23, 2008 at Nashville’s Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The son of the late Samuel Russell and Clara Mae Jackson, Mr. Jackson was a member of College Grove Church of Christ, a retired truck driver with Roadway, a member of the Al Menah Shrine Temple, member of the American Legion in Donelson Post No. 88, and a 32nd degree Mason.
A Masonic service was held Monday evening at the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Funeral services were conducted by Dr. Larry Locke with interment in the Hollis Wright Cemetery.
Survivors include: wife Anna Griffin Jackson of Lebanon; daughter Debbie Moore of Hermitage; step-daughter Polly (Ben) Cook, step-son Spook (Cindy) Spickard, step-daughter Mary Lou Jennings; brother Ralph (Dorothy) Jackson of Murfreesboro; sisters Joyce (Arlis) Anderson and Jean (Jim) Haines; grandchildren Rob Spickard, Eli Spickard, Stroud Cook and Sully Cook.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson is preceded in death by sister Provie Sexton; uncle and aunt Ernest and Alli Bell Jackson. Friends served as pallbearers.
Partlow Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
