LANCASTER -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 12 Noon Wednesday, May 19 at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes for Mr. Maynard, 88, of the Lancaster Community.
Born September 4, 1921 in Lancaster to the late James Fantley and Berdie Elizabeth Haggard Maynard, he passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010 at University Medical Center in Lebanon.
He attended Lancaster School and retired from Metro Nashville Maintenance Department as a Superintendent.
The family will receive friends at the Gordonsville Chapel Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time.
Services will be conducted by Brother Steve Waller. Interment will follow in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: his Wife Marie Wheeler Maynard and children Joe Maynard (Barbara) Hanthorn, Glendal (Don) Burns, Ronald (Janice) Maynard, Joyce Ann (Tommy) Crafton and Jerry Maynard; step-children Brenda Sharp (John McClain), Cathy (Jimmy) Holmes, Debbie Lamping, Vickie (William) James and Vinnie (Flynn) Neal; daughter-in-law Sandra Maynard.
Also surviving are siblings Winnie Mae Bush, Dimple Smith Hook and Dean Maynard; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, step-grandchildren; step-great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Maynard is preceded in death by his Son Bobby Maynard and step-sons Wirt Wayne and Terry Lee Maynard.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Lancaster Fire Department.
