John Daniel Cannady, age 73, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died Jan. 3, 2017.
Mr. Cannady was a member of Gladeville Baptist Church where he taught Children's Sunday School for over 30 years and sang with the Glade Singers Gospel Quartet. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp where he served as a jet mechanic and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 34 years of service.
Mr. Cannady was the foster son of the late, John L. and Nancy McRannolds. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Carl W. Cannady and his foster brother, Leroy McRannolds.
He is survived by wife of 51 years, Linda Cannady, daughters, Sharon (Brian) Rector and Shelia Crockett, sister, Rachel Hartley, brother, Daniel L. Cannady, grandchildren, Jacob Rector, Sam Rector, Isabella Rector and Natalie Rector, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 at The Glade Church, 9000 Stewarts Ferry Pike, Gladeville, TN with Rev. Michael Eubanks officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jacob Rector, Sam Rector, Chris Crockett, Brian Rector, Neal Riley and Jesse Harris.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the church.
