LEBANON -- Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Friday, February 19 at the Disyal Funeral Home, 400 E. Market Street, for Mr. Wester, 94, of Lebanon. Known as “Preacher Man”, Mr. Wester was born Feb. 22, 1915 in the Smith County community of Lancaster. He passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Lebanon's Quality Care Health Center.

Educated in the Smith County public schools, he united with the Lancaster Methodist Church and later joined the Rocky Road United Methodist Church in Lebanon, where he served until his health failed. Mr. Wester gained fame as "Preacher Man" during his regular telephone visits to WJKM radio on the Harv Mason Morning Show.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the 12 Noon services. The Rev. Frank Allen will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow at the Mt. Lebanon Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include: his wife of over 50 years Scriptoria Paris; nephews Jerome (Patsy) townsend, Roderick (Beverly) Townsend, Ray (Sherry) Wester, Sherman (Dorothy) Wester, Cedric (Carolyn) Lancaster and Ed Wester; nieces Linda Townsend, Sue White, Sue Carrick, Wilma Young, Katherine Young, Thonasena Wester and a host of other nieces and nephews; devoted cousin Carrie English; dear friends Rev. Frank Allen, Bobby Joe Lewis, Hubert Bell and Debra Abston along with a host of friens and the medical staff of Cedars Health Care Center and caregiver Shirley Bates.

Disyal Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
