Authorities in Mt. Juliet arrested a man dressed in women's garb Wednesday afternoon after he allegedly stole a car in Nashville and was later identified driving on Interstate-40 in Wilson County.

The man was reportedly taking a burgundy Mercury Cougar for a test drive Wednesday afternoon from LA Auto Sales in Hermitage, when he fled in the car and was pursued by police.

The Mt. Juliet Police Department placed spike strips on I-40 causing the man to crash the vehicle and then lead police on another chase on foot.

The man was arrested in a wooded area near New Hope Road in Mt. Juliet with the assistance of a K-9 officer.

The as-yet unidentified male was treated for bites from the police dog and remains in custody.
