WATERTOWN -- Goodpasture struck for three runs in the top of the fourth on the way to an 8-1 win at Watertown Thursday afternoon, April 20.
The Cougars collected 11 hits off Watertown pitcher Alicia House, who went the distance and struck out three.
Jada Moss, Kaleigha Carter, Ridge Morgan, Baile3y Griffin and Lauren Webster all singled for the Lady Tigers.
HARTSVILLE -- Amber Wright drilled a pair of home runs and drove in four runs Tuesday, April 11 as Watertown downed Trousdale County High 11-1 in District 8-A softball.
Jada Moss had a double and a single to account for three RBI while Bailey Griffin was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4.
Alicia House started and struck out eight over four innings, allowing one hit.
Mt. Juliet 9, Hendersonville 3
MT. JULIET -- The host Lady Bears pounded out 14 hits and took advantage of three Hendersonville errors in Tuesday's 9-3 victory over the Lady Commandos.
C.J. Privott and Kyli Biggs each had three hits while Tyffany Cargile and Biggs each drove in two runs.
The Lady Bears, now 5-5 overall and 1-1 in District 9-AAA, will host Wilson Central Wednesday at 5 p.m.
Wilson Central 9, Silver Creek, (IN) 1
GLADEVILLE -- Wilson Central's Morgan Stokes drove in four runs on three hits and homer in Thursday's (March 23) 9-1 victory over Silver Creek, IN in the opening round of the 23rd annual Southern Warrior Classic.
Claire Smith added a pair of triples and drove in two while pitcher Kaylee Richetto had three hits -- a triple and a double -- and drove in a run.
Richetto worked the full seven innings, scattering five hits and struck out four.
Freshman infielder at Centre
DANVILLE, KY -- Centre College freshman and 2016 Lebanon High graduate Sarah Aubuchon was named Southern Athletic Association Player of the Week for games played through Mar. 12.
Aubuchon went 8-19 from the plate in six games for the Colonels last week, including three doubles, one triple and a grand slam that marked the first home run of her collegiate career.
MJ plays "loser-out" game Monday
HENDERSONVILLE -- Mt. Juliet's Lady Bears are scheduled to take on Station Camp 7 p.m. Monday at Sumner County's Veteran's Park in a "loser=out" game of the District 9-AAA softball tournament.
Mt. Juliet slipped to 17-24 on the season following Friday's 6-5 loss in eight innings to Wilson Central Friday in the tournament's opening round.
The Lady Bears held an early 4-0 lead, only to see the defending state champs claw back into contention, then score the winning run on a pair of fielding errors.
Lebanon thumps Summertown in finals
BRENTWOOD -- Lebanon stormed to the championship of the annual Chick-fil-A Classic Saturday evening at Crockett Park, thumping Summertown 11-1 in the Gold Division finals.
Now 13-9-1 overall, the Lady Devils can set their sights on Thursday's 6 p.m. home game with District 9-AAA rival Wilson Central and Friday's 6 p.m. contest at Friendship Christian.
Lady Warrior Southern Classic
Lebanon High's softball team is scheduled to play in the Lady Warrior Southern Classic Friday and Saturday at Murfreesboro's McKnight Park.
Friday at 6 p.m., the Lady Devils will be matched up with Bob Jones High (Ala.) at McKnight No. 2, followed by an 8 p.m. contest with Scott County (Ky.) at 8 p.m. on Field No. 3.
Tuesday at the Commando Classic
HENDERSONVILLE -- Lebanon High's softball team split a pair of games Tuesday in the annual Commando Classic at Drakes Creek Park.
The Lady Devils dropped a 4-3 decision to Class AA power Creek Wood High, then topped Pope John Paul II 6-1 -- giving new head coach Chris Spurlock his initial victory at LHS.
Simmons headed to Milligan
Lebanon High softball standout Hannah Simmons signed scholarship papers Wednesday, Nov. 18 with Milligan College, an NAIA institution located near Johnson City. Milligan competes in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
accepts position at Smyrna --
Lebanon High teacher / head softball coach John Lafevor has resigned to take an assistant coaching position at Smyrna High in Rutherford County.
Coach of the Lady Devils for the past two seasons, LaFevor compiled a record of 27-30 during his tenure.
LHS loses just two seniors to graduation -- Megan Brown and Brittany Nagelout.
Burton strokes homer
LEBANON -- Courtney Petty and Tana Whited combined for a five-inning five-hitter as Friendship Christian School run-ruled host Lebanon High 12-1 Monday evening. Petty worked three innings and Whited two. Petty struck out six and Whited one as the Lady Commanders improved to 9-1 on the season.
FCS struck for four runs in the top of the second and put the game away with a seven-spot in the top of the fifth.
