Former Vincennes standout --
Cumberland University women's basketball coach Jeremy Lewis announced this week the signing of Vincennes University transfer Kyra Tucker to scholarship papers for the 2017-18 academic year.

Tucker averaged 13.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game at Vincennes in 2015-16, helping the Trailblazers to a 29-6 overall record and a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament.

HOOPS -- Dowell earns JC all-region

Former Lebanon High standout
HIGHLAND, KS -- Lebanon High graduate Jameka Dowell (Class of 2015) has been named first team All-Region NJCAA Region VI for her play this season with Highland Community College.

Dowell, a 5-8 guard, knocked down 44.6 percent of her shots from the field and connected on 30.5 percent of her 3-point attempts.

Softball pitcher, '66 hoopsters --
LEBANON -- Cumberland University Athletics announced its newest Sports Hall of Fame members Thursday, which include softball player Ashley Putman Serbin and the 1966 men's junior college basketball team, the first to ever reach the national tournament.

Serbin and the 1966 team will be inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame the weekend of October 30-31 this year as part of Homecoming festivities at Cumberland.
