Five former Wilson County baseball standouts will have one more opportunity to wear their school colors Thursday in the sixth annual MidTN Senior All-Star Classic is planned for Vanderbilt University's Hawkins Field.
Sponsored by Warner Athletic Construction and Top Tenn Baseball, the event had been staged at Cumberland University's Ernest L. Stockton Field since its beginnings, but the ability to play on an artificial surface presented organizer Davey Cothran with an opportunity that was almost too good to pass up.

Lebanon High's baseball team held its annual awards banquet Thursday evening, May 25 at The Bridge Fellowship Church.
The awards reception / dinner was sponsored by the Lebanon All Sports Booster Club. The meal was provided by Demos' Restaurant, Lebanon.
9-AAA All-District shortstop
Lebanon High baseball standout Nick Sanders signed scholarship papers Thursday, May 25 with Lindsey Wilson College, an NAIA institution in Columbia, KY.
Sanders, a four-year starter at shortstop for the Blue Devils, hit .427 with 10 doubles as a senior with six triples and two homers while driving in 36 runs.
Mt. Juliet 10, Lebanon 3
MT. JULIET -- Mt. Juliet rocked Lebanon starter JaKeese Turner for six runs on six hits in the first inning of Thursday's 10-3 victory over the Blue Devils.
Turner lasted just two-thirds of an inning as the Bears improved to 16-7 overall / 6-1 in District 9-AAA.
The big first inning blows included a bases-loaded triple by Aiden Raines and a solo homer by Jack Simonson.
Aaron Brown has 9 K's
LEBANON -- Mt. Juliet bunched together key hits at opportune times to come away with a 4-0 victory over Lebanon Wednesday at Brent Foster Field.
The Bears pushed across a run in the top of the third, then added two more in the fourth and a single run in the sixth.
Starter Aaron Brown worked six innings for the win, scattering five hits.
WCIT opens Thursday, March 23
LEBANON -- Lebanon High tuned up for the annual Wilson County Invitational with an 8-0 victory over Mt. Juliet Christian Academy Wednesday, March 22 at Brent Foster Field.
Blue Devil pitchers Evan Britt and JaKeese Turner combined for a five-hit shutout. Britt started and struck out nine in four innings of work to get the decision. Turner added three strikeouts in his three inning stint.
Three teams play Wednesday night --
Three Wilson County baseball teams will be busy Wednesday as three squads will be in action -- only one at home.
Friendship Christian School is scheduled to host Eagleville High in a 6:30 p.m. contest.
Wilson Central will travel to Drakes Creek Park for a 7 p.m. game against District 9-AAA rival Hendersonville High while Mt. Juliet visits Shackle Island for a 7 p.m. encounter with 9-AAA foe Beech.
