Phelps, the daughter of George and Kristi Phelps, was a first baseman and the only senior on the roster for the Lady Bears.

CU's Ryan Hunt hired at VSCC

Longtime CU assistant, former player
GALLATIN -- Longtime Cumberland assistant baseball coach Ryan Hunt has accepted the head coaching job at Volunteer State Community College.

Hunt who coached under his father, CU's Hall of Fame coach Woody Hunt, is expected to sign his contract later this week and meet with his new team Sunday.

The VSCC position opened in the fall with some 200 coaches making formal application for the spot.
