LEBANON -- Mt. Juliet bunched together key hits at opportune times to come away with a 4-0 victory over Lebanon Wednesday at Brent Foster Field.
The Bears pushed across a run in the top of the third, then added two more in the fourth and a single run in the sixth.
Starter Aaron Brown worked six innings for the win, scattering five hits.
Lady Commanders end season 38-13
COLLIERVILLE -- Friendship Christian's volleyball season came to a close Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 loss at St. George's Independent School in the Division II-A substate. Game scores: 25-12, 25-20 and 25-23.
"After a rocky start, the girls really put up a fight," said FCS head coach John Stephens.
"We were definitely outmatched in height at the net, but our front line worked hard and held their own.
Honors for soccer & 9-AAA as well
Closing the books on the 2015-2016 athletic year, the Tennessee Sports Writers Association has announced all-state teams for bowling, wrestling and track & field -- including several local athletes.
Three Wilson Countians were honored in bowling, Lebanon High's Lindsay Manning on the girls side while Donny Turner and Luke Shoulders earned all-state boys accolades.
NEW BLUE RAIDER -- Wilson Central High wrestler Nick King signed with Middle Tennessee State in ceremonies held Wednesday, April 6.
A two-time regional champion at 132-pounds, he is a member of Wilson Central's 100 Win Club.
FCS hosts Harding Academy
Only three Wilson County football teams remain alive as the TSSAA playoffs reach the second round. Mt. Juliet and Wilson Central will be on the road tonight in 6A while Division II-A Friendship Christian will be at home.
All state playoff games start at 7 p.m. local time.

MT. JULIET -- Savannah Sanders struck out 12 batters, but her Mt. Juliet High teammates were held to just two hits against Siegel's Veronica Westfall in Wednesday afternoon's 3-0 loss to the Stars.
Siegel (2-0) pushed across two runs in the top of the first inning and added a solo run in the third.

Play in the District 9-AAA girls basketball tournament cranks up Thursday night at two satellite sites with top-seeded Mt. Juliet and No. 2-seed Wilson Central scheduled to host.
Mt. Juliet's Lady Bears (25-2 overall and 14-0 in 9-AAA) will host No. 8-seeded Gallatin (12-15, 2-12) in a 6:30 p.m. contest. The second game of the evening will feature Hendersonville (11-10, 7-7) vs. Beech (12-15, 5-9).
