Knox Allen Ownby, age 94, of Mt. Juliet, TN, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 8, 2016 after an extended stay at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
He was a resident of Rutland Place in Mt. Juliet, TN for six years. Knox previously lived in Lewisburg, and was the former owner of Marshall Auto Supply. He served his country as a member of the U. S. Army and was also a member of the Old Guard Association of Washington DC. He served as Post Commander of American Legion Post and long-time member of Masonic Lodge Dillahany #112 in Lewisburg. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and Al Menah Shrine in Nashville.
He is preceded in death by his wives, Josephine Smith Ownby and Francis Woodard Ownby
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Barry Anthony Ownby & Nancy Thole Ownby, daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Ownby Stevens & Lonnie Stevens, grandchildren, Kellie Davidson of Soldtna, Alaska, Eric Ownby of Scottsdale, Arizona, Meagan Carroll, Kelsey Powell and Spencer Stevens, and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2016 at Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg, TN.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday at Bond Memorial Chapel, N. Mt. Juliet Road and Weston Drive, Mt. Juliet, TN. (615)773-2663, www.bondmemorial.com.
