Laurel Willis wins Farm Bureau essay contest

Laurel Willis, left, was the Farm Bureau first-place essay contest winner for Wilson County. Making the award presentation is Hal Parrott, agency manager of Farm Bureau Insurance's main office on Southside Park in Lebanon. Willis won for her essay on "Why is Agriculture Important?" Her winning entry will now be submitted to the state contest, where the top prize is $400. Willis is the daughter of Andy and Dawn Willis and a seventh-grader in Mrs. April Kring's class at Winfree Bryant Middle School. SUBMITTED
