Leading 10-5 in the fourth set, Lebanon took reeled off runs of 4-0 and 5-0 and led 22-16 beforethe Lady Bearscalmed the storm with a five straight points to trim the margin to 22-19. A Mt. Julietservice error swung the momentum back to the Lady Devils.
"If you did yourself that deep of a hole against a team like that, it's tough to come back," said Mt. Juliet coach Jennifer Wilson. "We gave away 15 or 16 points in a 25-point match with service and passing errors -- not being in the right spot. We didn't give ourselves much of a chance, but they outplayed up tonight."
Alex Britt led the Lady Devils with 20 kills, 21 digs, an assist, two aces and a block. Bri Clemmons added nine kills and a block while Kelsey Yarbrough finished with 8 kills. Nicole Painter scored six kills and added four blocks while Tatum Thompson passed out41 assists, and had 12 digs.
LHS will entertain Portland Tuesday at 6 p.m. for "Dig Pink Night". Varsity action starts at 6 p.m.
Now 9-1 in District 9-AAA, Mt. Juliet will host league rivals Wilson Central Tuesday and Beech Thursday, Sept. 26. Both matches will start at 6 p.m.
Wilson Central 3, Gallatin 0GLADEVILLE -- Wilson Central's Lady Wildcats improved to 16-15 on the season and 6-4 in District 0-AAA with a 3-0 home win over Gallatin Monday. Game scores: 25-12, 25-12 and 25-12.
Libby Towbridge lowered the boom on 11 kills for WCHS while Jordan Fitzgerald recorded seven service aces. Brittany Wiseman had seven digs while Amy Trice passed out six assists.
The Lady Wildcats are scheduled to play at Mt. Juliet Tuesday and at Hendersonville Thursday, Sept. 26. Game times are 6 p.m.
