Members of the Lebanon Country Club adopted five families from Wilson County Christmas for All to bless this holiday season.

On Thursday night, they hosted a wrapping party to get donated gifts ready for distribution on Christmas Eve. Coordinator Jeannie Mitzenberg said that she contacts the families through Christmas for All who are willing to talk to us and let us come visit them on Christmas Eve.

Beginning in November, both present and monetary donations were collected at the club. We provide gifts for the whole family not just the children. We get something for every member of that househould, she explained. The club members also provide each family with a cooked turkey and the canned goods necessary to enjoy a hearty Christmas dinner and then some.

Member Col. (retired) Steve Wilson said that the club prides itself on this type of openness and community involvement. After we go out and deliver presents you go home and in that quiet time you realize that is what Christmas is all about, he said.
