FRANKLIN -- Defending state champion Clarissa Ceffalo of Elizabethon defeated Lebanon freshman Jamie Reed (pictured right) 10-0 Saturday in the 185-pound finals of the TSSAA Girls State Wrestling Invitational at the Williamson County Expo Center.

Reed was attempting to claim Lebanon High's first state championship since Jeff Lester won a wrestling title in 1984. The only other state championship for LHS was in 1971 when the Devilettes won the state basketball title.

Reed reached Saturday's finals with a pin of South Doyle's Kim Shell in 6:38 of overtime on Friday.

Also on Friday, Lebanon's 120-pound entry Priscilla Garza lost to Ruth Dammann of Science Hill (pin, 1:44) and to Elizabeth Lynn of Clarksville Northeast (pin, 1:15) in her two matches.

Three local boys are wrestling in the consolation bracket and can finish as high as third place.

Mt. Juliet's Matthew Seaman (152) lost to Centennial's Parker Smith by a 14-5 count in the quarterfinals of the championship bracket. He then won two straight consolation matches -- 4-3 over Andrew Leyva of Knox Gibbs and 6-2 over Sam Underwood of Eagleville.

Seaman was scheduled to wrestle Trenton Bell of Hunters Lane Saturday morning.

Wilson Central teammates John Kramer (220) and Austin Richard (132) are also still alive in the consolation bracket. Kramer is set to wrestle Hayden Hamilton of Cleveland today while Kramer will go against Raul Leyva of Knox Gibbs.
