To The Editor:

A few days ago, I was pulled over on West Main Street by Lebanon Police Officer Lewis. I want to compliment him on his courtesy and professionalism. It is about time we speak up when one of the guys in blue does something that deserves a compliment.

Here is what happened:

Officer Lewis pulled me over for an expired tag. The problem was, as soon as he ran my tag, he realized it was not expired. You could not have asked for a more polite and professional demeanor. The new stickers denoting expiration are hard to read, and this is the second time I have had this mistake made.

I was running a little late for a meeting and could have been upset. Instead, I thanked him for his service and shook his hand. He and the other law enforcement officers are doing a difficult job in difficult times, and I think it is about time they got some good publicity.

Thank you, Officer Lewis.
