LHS scored first on a 30 yard field goal by Nathan Gibson, then tacked on a three yard TD run by Matthew Maynard – closing out a five play, 50 yard drive.
The big play in the drive was a 38 yard pass from Maynard to Crudup.
Siegel answered with a 22 yard field goal by Jesse Chambers at the 1:21 mark of the second quarter.
Driving 67 yards in just 58 seconds, Lebanon pulled ahead 17-3 at intermission as Crudup hauled in a 22 yard fade route from Maynard – picking the ball off the helmet of Siegel defense Alex Cromartie – for a touchdown.
Siegel refused to go away, sandwiching a couple of long Marc Gooch touchdown receptions around a 32 yard Gibson field goal to cut Lebanon’s lead to 20-17 with 1:49 to go in the game.
The Stars pulled off a "rugby scrum" onsides kick – but missed a 45 yard field goal attempt on a fourth and six that would have forced the contest into overtime.
Lebanon’s defense made just enough plays to keep Siegel bottled up – allowing 390 yards in total offense and 12 first downs. Siegel quarterbacks completed 11-of-22 passes for 282 yards (8 of which went to Gooch for 270 yards).
The Blue Devils recorded 323 yards in offense (168 on the ground and 155 through the air) and 19 first downs. Lebanon overcame a fumble and an interception.
Individually, Lebanon was led by Matthew Maynard’s 85 yards on 27 carries and 51 yards from Jacob Maynard on 19 attempts. William Benford ran eight times for 31 yards and senior Nathan Gibson ran once for one yard on a fake field goal.
Matthew Maynard connected on 10-of-21 passes for 155 yards and score. Jacob Maynard had five catches for 38, Alex Hutton one for 14 and Phillip Vance one for six.
