PORTLAND -- Lebanon improved to 2-6 on the season with 23-6 win over Portland in a penalty-marred game Friday night at Memorial Field. The victory broke a five-game Blue Devil losing streak headed into an off week.

The two squads were flagged 19 times and combined for 185 yards in penalties in a game that saw tempers flare for most of the contest.

The Blue Devils sandwiched scoring drives of 85 and 80 yards to start and finish the game around a 43 yard drive set up by a dazzling 47-yard punt return by Eddie McDaniels.

Junior Taye Davis ran 19 times for 90 yards and scored on a 20-yard burst off right tackle to seal Portland's fate with a 3:18 left in the contest.

Jarren Stewart ran seven times for 47 yards and a TD -- all in the second half while Karlton Bruton added 11 yards on three short yardage carries and a score.

QB Christian Haffner completed 9-of-13 passes for 116 yards. Julien Crutchfield caught two balls for 52 yards while McDaniels added three catches for 33.
