LHS band takes top honors

Grand Champion LHS Marching Band

CUNNINGHAM -- The Lebanon High School Marching Band earned the Grand Champion Award at the Indian Nation Marching Invitational held Saturday, Sept. 13 at Montgomery Central High School.

Some 13 bands from across Middle Tennessee took part with the Marching Blue Devils reaping the highest scores of the day in the music performance and general effect captions.

The Grand Champion Award was the first such award for the LHS program in nearly 10 years.

The Lebanon Marching Band will continue the 2014 contest season with competitions at Hendersonville High School (Sept. 20), Waverly Central High (Sept. 27), Forrest High (Oct. 11) and Vanderbilt University (Oct. 25).

The band will also perform in exhibition at the 29th annual Blue Devil Invitational scheduled Saturday, Oct. 4 at Lebanon High School's Danny Watkins Stadium / Clifton Tribble Field.
