LHS, Central grab WCIT wins

Lebanon 17, Watertown 6
LEBANON -- A 12-run fourth inning powered Lebanon High to a 17-6 win over Watertown Thursday night in a WCIT game at Brent Foster Field.

Down 4-0, Watertown scored four times in the top of the fourth to go ahead 6-5, only to see the Blue Devil bats erupt in the bottom of the frame.

Junior Zane Potter led the LHS offensive attack with three hits and four RBI. Clean-up hitter Dawson Hamilton and catcher Peyton McCullough each had three hits in the win.

Senior Connor Harris started and was relived by freshman Tristan Warden (1-0) who picked up the decision.

Seth Price and Justin Johnson each had three hits for the Purple Tigers -- with Price driving in two runs.

Lebanon, now 4-4 on the season, is scheduled to host Page High from Franklin Friday at 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, LHS will play DeKalb County High at 12:30 p.m. and Eagleville at 3 p.m.

Also at Brent Foster Field -- Watertown (3-4) is slated to play Eagleville tonight (Friday) at 6 p.m. The Purple Tigers will play White House Friday at 10 a.m.

Wilson Central 7, White House 1
GLADEVILLE -- Wilson Central improved to 2-4 on the season following a 7-1 home win over White House Thursday in the WCIT.

The Wildcats, who had nine hits in the game, took control early with a four-run first inning.

A.J. Franklin, Malone Smith and Kyle Hubbuch each had two hits for the winners while Tony Pfefferly and Ben Spradley each drove in two runs.

Kyle Schmitt (2-0) picked up the decision, scattering four hits over six innings.

Wilson Central hosts Giles County today at 2 p.m.

WCIT SCHEDULE -- Fans of high school baseball can get their fill this weekend as the annual Wilson County Invitational Tournament (WCIT) moves into high gear.

Games will be played Friday and Saturday at four different venues in Wilson County, including Lebanon’s Brent Foster Field, Friendship Christian School, Wilson Central and Mt. Juliet.
