Lebanon closed out a memorable 46-year run at Nokes-Lasater Field Friday, Oct. 7 with a stirring 35-21 victory over District 9AAA rival Portland.

The win was just the second this season for the Blue Devils of Coach Troy Crane, who improved to 2-6 overall. Portland remained winless on the year.

Leading 14-7 at intermission, Lebanon chalked up a couple of defensive scores in the third period on interception returns by linebackers Case Sloan (10 yards) and Quinny Dowell (27 yards). Juicy Apple added a five yard touchdown run at the end of a quarter for a 35-7 LHS lead.

Lebanon will take Oct. 14 off, then will close the 2011 season with games at Beech and Hendersonville High.
