R.G. Anderson Company submitted the lowest bid for the project. Five other contractors bid on school construction.

“Anderson has worked with our architect over 15 years and has a great reputation surrounding their work,” Hall said.

The bid does not include fixtures and furnishings such as desks, tables and chairs, computers, computer wiring, boards and other miscellaneous items. The system will begin accepting bids for those items in the next few months, Hall said.

The contract stipulates that the construction will be completed no later than June 1, 2012, Hall said.

“The overall budget looks very good,” he added. “It is much lower than expected across the board. By August 2012, we will be ready to get (the students) in there, the future class of 2013.”
