Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6 at Watertown's Hunter Funeral Home for Mrs. Patterson, 69, of the Greenvale Community.

A Wilson County native and the daughter of the late George Edgar Thompson and Margaret Bennett Thompson, she died Monday evening, Nov. 3, 2014 at her residence.

A graduate of Watertown High School, Ms. Patterson received her Masters Degree from Middle Tennessee State University and a Doctorate from the University of Indiana. She was a professor of physical education at Middle Tennessee State University and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. until service Thursday's service.

Services will be conducted by Bro. Glenn Denton and Bro. Shayne Ray. Burial will be at Wilson County Memorial Park.

Survivors include: children Bryan (Barbara) Patterson and Michael (Christie) Patterson -- both of Watertown, Jamie (Kevin) Vaught of Beech Grove and Ginny Patterson of Lebanon.

Also surviving are grandchildren Adam (Elizabeth), Dalton, Taylor and Victoria Patterson, Ethan (Lacey), Amelia and Anthony Patterson, Dakota, Dylan and Delaney Vaught, Drew and Rylee Agee; great grandson Crockett Patterson; sisters Gail (Harry) Bennett of Watertown, Georgia (Terry) Wilkerson of Dickson, Karen Gilbert of Waco, TX; brother, Wayne (Gail) Thompson of Hawley, TX; as well as nieces and nephews.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Watertown's Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
