The Little River Band, famous for tunes such as "Lady," "Lonesome Loser," "Reminiscing," and "Cool Change," will be in Lebanon this Sunday night to put on a rockin' show and raise funds for Brooks House.

The band has sold more than 25 million records and achieved 13 U.S. Top 40 hits. Tickets are still available at $45, $65 and $100. Tickets may be purchased at Pinnacle Bank and picked up the night of the concert.

Doors open at 6 p.m. at Winfree Bryant Middle School. The show begins at 7 p.m.

Melanie Johnson, the Administrative Assistant to Brooks House Executive Director Liz Reese, said that funds from ticket sales and silent auction items will be used to pay for their recent building expansion before they move in.

Johnson said that Jack Bell Construction added two bathrooms, one dormitory style and one family style, a new laundry room, dining room, kitchen and office for Reese to their current facility. She explained that this addition freed up current rooms in the home that they turned into three bedrooms and a playroom for children.

"Our current laundry room will be a bedroom, the current kitchen will become a playroom and the current playroom will become a bedroom," she said. "We are hoping to have the expansion paid for when we move in soon. Any funds left over would go to operations."

Johnson told The Wilson Post on Wednesday that they were inspected by the Fire Marshal and were awaiting one more inspection before they could move into the new area.

Brooks House was established with the mission statement to provide a safe, comfortable environment for women and children seeking shelter and connect them with resources to help change their lives. It was named in honor of late Lebanon Democrat reporter Brooks Franklin, who wrote several award-winning articles bringing attention to the homeless population in Wilson County.

Reese was named the first Director of Brooks House in March 2007 and continues to serve in the role.
