To say it was a blow out would be an understatement.
Old Hickory Lake in Mt. Juliet was rocking Memorial Day by Little Texas during a fund-raiser for an esteemed and revered local outreach.
It was all for Big Brothers of Mt. Juliet and according to Big Brother representative Joey Bishop.
"It is the biggest fund-raiser for our organization to date."
Little Texas literally rocked the dock for Big Brothers with an estimated 600-plus supporters who showed up to hear them play.
"It was a 90-minute show, and we had the dock dancing," said Duane Propes of Little Texas, who lives in Mt. Juliet.
There were food trucks, refreshments, traffic control and general organization for a show that was put together on a quick note.
"It was such a great turnout," Propes said. "When you get Big Brothers, Little Texas and City of Mt. Juliet support, as well as fans, you can't go wrong."
Andy Ross also performed on the dock. Everyone hopes to have a second fund-raiser next year, and though it's not final, thousands were raised for Big Brothers through ticket sales and sponsorships.
