FCS closes with two tourney wins
JAMESTOWN -- Friendship Christian improved to 6-7 on the season following Saturday morning's 62-48 victory over Tullahoma in the consolation bracket of the Hall's Sgt. York Southeastern Christmas Invitational.
Commander forward Hanley Sobieszczyk led all scorers with 21 points, and earned a spot on the all-tournament team.
Joe Greenwood added 12 points while Jake Blair had 11 and Zach Blair nine.

Friendship 83, Owsley Co. (Ky.) 43
JAMESTOWN -- Hanley Sobieszczyk finished with 20 points and Joe Greenwood added 19 Friday morning as Friendship Christian disposed of Owsley County (Ky.) 83-43 in the consolation bracket.
Ashton Young added 13 points and Zach Blair eight as the Commanders pulled ahead 21-11 in the first quarter and 41-29 at halftime.
FCS will be back in action Friday, Jan. 6 taking on Providence Christian in Murfreesboro.

Wilson Central 53, South Forsyth (Ga.) 47
NASHVILLE -- Wilson Central climbed to 9-6 on the season following a 53-47 victory over South Forsyth (Ga.) in the fifth place game of the John Overton Christmas Tournament Friday at Overton High School.
Down 35-32 headed into the fourth quarter, the Wildcats closed out the contest on a 21-12 run.
Cole Booth paced the Central comeback, scoring 10 of his team-high 12 points in the fourth quarter.
Dawson Hamilton, Kene Aruh and Naz Czeskleba each had nine points.

Wilson Central 57, Siegel 52
NASHVILLE -- Kene Aruh scored a game-high 21 points Thursday, Dec. 29 as Wilson Central topped Murfreesboro Siegel 57-52 in the consolation bracket of the John Overton Christmas Tournament.
The Wildcats led 14-6 after one quarter and 27-17 at intermission.
Zay Kern, Hamilton and Czeskleba each had eight points for WCHS.
Wilson Central will be back in action Friday, Jan. 6 as they host District 9-AAA rival Gallatin.

Mt. Juliet 68, Clarksville 56
NASHVILLE -- Mt. Juliet moved to 9-7 on the season following a 68-56 victory over Clarksville in Thursday's fifth place game of the Willie Brown '65 Father Ryan Christmas Tournament.
All-tournament selection J.R. Sanders paced the Golden Bears with 18 points.
Isaac Stephens had 13 while Joey Hayes and Prey Pruitt each had 11 points.
Mt. Juliet will travel to Shackle Island Friday, Jan. 6 for a District 9-AAA encounter with Beech.

Marshall Co. 59, Lebanon 54
FRANKLIN -- Lebanon will take a record of 9-5 into Friday's District 9-AAA home game with Station Camp following a fourth place finish in the "Battle of Franklin" tournament -- hosted by Battle Ground Academy.
The Blue Devils dropped a 59-54 decision to Marshall County in a Dec. 29 consolation contest.
The two squads were tied 46-all headed into the final eight minutes.
Senior guard Cameron Oliver drilled a pair of 3-pointers and led LHS with 19 points.
Noah Mulaski added 14 while Eddie Jackson finished with eight and David Covile had seven.

Alcoa 68, Lebanon 61
FRANKLIN -- Lebanon saw an early nine-point lead evaporate in a 68-61 loss to Alcoa Wednesday, Dec. 28 in the "Battle of Franklin" tournament.
Only four LHS players scored, including post man Eddie Jackson who powered in 26 points.
Cameron Oliver added 17, Noah Mulaski 14 (three 3-pointers) and Kemon Neuble added four points off the bench.
