Wilson Central sweeps SCHS
GALLATIN -- Wilson Central swept a pair of District 9-AAA softball games Monday, May 1 at Station Camp High by scores of 6-2 and 8-2.
With the victories, the Lady Wildcats improved to 21-13-1 on the season and 8-4 in the district headed into Tuesday's (May 2) game at Portland.
In the 6-2 win, Wilson Central took control with four runs in the fifth inning thanks to an RBI single by Kaylee Richetto and a three-run double off the bat of Eboni Jordan.
WCHS finished with 12 hits including four by senior Claire Smith and three from Richetto.
Taryn Pastore started and got the win while Richetto worked the sevening in a non-save situation.
In the 8-2 contest, Central took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth, then added three in the sixth.
Ashley Foster got the win, throwing a complete game five-hitter, striking out two.
Brooke Pfefferle had three hits and drove in a pair of runs for Wilson Central.

Mt. Juliet 5, Lebanon 2
MT. JULIET -- A four-run sixth inning rally erased a 2-1 Lebanon lead and lifted Mt. Juliet to a 5-2 victory over the Lady Devils Monday afternoon.
The Lady Bears clicked for 13 hits against LHS pitchers Anna Smallwood and Addison Fuller -- improving to 18-13 on the season / 10-3 in District 9-AAA.
Tyffany Cargile, Kyli Biggs and Molly Back had two hits apiece while Cameron Cernuto drilled an RBI double.
Pitcher Alyssa Costley helped her own cause with an RBI single.
Costley went the distance for Mt. Juliet, limiting Lebanon to just four hits while striking out three.
Megan Jaselskis had a pair of singles for the Lady Devils and Anna Bennett ripped a solo home run in the fifth inning.
LHS fell to 16-15-1 on the season with the loss / 9-4 in the district.

Watertown 5, Smith Co. 0
SOUTH CARTHAGE -- Alicia House twirled a neat three-hit shutout Monday afternoon, helping lead Watertown to a 5-0 win at Class AA Smith County.
House threw just 66 pitches over seven innings -- 42 for strikes while striking out one and issuing one walk.
Bailey Griffin had a double and a single to drive in two runs while Amber Wright had a double and a single and scored two runs.

Watertown 7, Smith County 2
Host Watertown scored four times in the bottom of the first en route to a 7-2 home victory over Smith County Friday, April 28.
Alicia House went the distance for the pitching decision, allowing seven hits.
Bailey Griffin drove in three runs with a home run and Kaleigha Carter had two hits and drove in two runs.

Lebanon 14, Wilson Central 4
A seven-run third inning uprising led Lebanon High to a 14-4 victory over District 9-AAA rival Wilson Central Friday, April 28.
LHS exploded for 22 hits, including home runs by Brianna Nagelhout and Bailey Lasater.
Anna Bennett drove in three runs with a based-loaded double in the third and Madi Knight drilled a bases-load triple.
Brittany Harris had three singles and Megan Jaselskis singled and doubled.
Wilson Central's Brooke Pfefferle drove in two runs while Eboni Jordan and Claire Smith each had RBI singles.
