LHS boys roll at Mt. Juliet
MT. JULIET -- Lebanon improved to 4-1 on the season following Friday's decisive 75-53 victory at Mt. Juliet High.
The Blue Devils closed out the first half on a 16-0 run to break open a close 24-23 contest.
Lebanon junior Kobe Neuble led all scorers with 23 points off the bench while KeShawn Abston added 16 and Paul Tribble chipped in with nine.
"We challenged our guys to out-work Mt. Juliet," said LHS coach Jim McDowell, "which is awfully hard to do. Year in and year out, Troy's guys work as hard as anybody in our league. I think we matched 'em tonight.
"We took care of the ball and did a good job of matching up with their shooters. We may not be as talented as some teams, but we play awfully well together and share the basketball."
Mt. Juliet (2-5) was led by J.R. Sanders with 12 points and 11 from Trey Pruitt. Mt. Juliet post man Austin Brown went down with an ankle injury in the first half.

MT. JULIET -- Twins Ronjanae and Raeyana DeGray combined for 43 points Friday night as Mt. Juliet handled Lebanon 58-25. Now 6-1, the Lady Bears led 13-4 after one quarter and 33-16 at intermission.
Ronjanae DeGray powered in 25 points while Raeyana finished with 18. Tavie Bell ripped a piar of 3-pointers for her six points.
"We've had good quarters here and there," said Mt. Juliet coach Chris Fryer, "our biggest issue has been putting together a complete game. Defensively we've played pretty good, offensively we're getting better."
Jameka Dowell led LHS with nine points and Morgan Bruce had seven.
Lebanon (2-2) plays at Hendersonville High Tuesday, Dec. 9 while Mt. Juliet will entertain Gallatin that same night.
Wilson Central sweeps HHS
GLADEVILLE -- Kendall Spray knocked down four 3-pointers and led all scorers with 22 points as Wilson Central downed Hendersonville 48-40 Friday night.
Amanda Byrd added 14 points and Kayla Jackson chipped in with eight as the Lady Wildcats improved to 5-3 on the season.
Wilson Central's boys picked up their first victory of the season in Friday's nightcap with a 64-52 victory over the Commandos. Nolan Chowbay had 18, Gavin Johnson 14 and Cortez Owens 10.
The WCHS squads will host District 9-AAA rival Beech High School Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
Watertown sweeps Goodpasture
WATERTOWN -- Bay Cole, Bobbi Staats and Katie Dalton all broke into double figures as Watertown hammered Goodpasture 65-29 Friday night at home.
Cole led all scorers with 21, Staats finished with 15 and Dalton drilled three 3-pointers and finished with 13 as the Tigerettes improved to 6-2 on the season.
Watertown's boys improved to 5-4 overall and 2-0 in District 8-A with a 64-53 win over Goodpasture in Friday's second game.
Seth Price led the Purple Tigers with 21 points, Dylan Speck had 16 and Ty Love finished with eight.
Watertown will visit Red Boiling Springs Tuesday, Dec. 9 for a 6 p.m. twinbill.
(boys) Hendersonville Christian 62, Friendship 50
HENDERSONVILLE -- Hendersonville Christian drilled 10 3-pointers and buried Friendship Christian at the free hrow line for a 62-50 victory over the Commanders Friday night, Dec. 5.
Gregory Elliott led FCS with 17 points while Zach Blair had 13 and Marshall Taylor 12.
The Commander teams will play an afternoon twinbill at Middle Tennessee Christian School Saturday, Dec. 6. Girls action will start at 3 p.m.
