Central girls move to 9-0
COOKEVILLE -- Wilson Central’s Lady Wildcats improved to 9-0 on the season following a 54-37 victory over Franklin County High in the first round of the Mid-South Classic Monday.
Coach Bud Brandon’s club sped away to a 20-9 lead in the first quarter and never trailed.
Ieshia Hassell poured in 19 points from the post while Taylor Peterson had 15 points  and Sydney Vanlandingham added 11.
The win vaulted WC to a second round game Tuesday night against Class A power Jackson County High in Gainesboro.

Blue Devils trip Northwest
CLARKSVILLE -- Lebanon High’s Blue Devils hung tough at the end and came away with a tight 58-56 victory over host Northwest High in the Northwet Classic Monday night in Montgomery County.
Coach Doug Keils’s team improved to 3-6 on the season and was scheduled to play Kenwood High Tuesday night in Clarksville.
Post man Cameron High led all scorers with 21 points for the Blue Devils while soph guard Brandon Fox drilled a couple of 3-pointers and finished with 14. Zimmer Hunn added eight and Hunter Christian seven while Kyrus Hoffinger had six points on a pair of 3-pointers.

Wildcats fall to Pittman
GATLINBURG -- Poor shooting plagued Wilson Central Monday in a 65-57 loss to Gatlinburg Pittman in the opening round of the Smokey Mountain Classic.
Coach Troy Bond’s team shot 33 percent from the floor (17-of-51) and hit only 1-of-9 from beyond the arc. The loss snapped a seven-game winning streak for the Wildcats -- who now stand 7-2 overall.
Dee Oldham had 25 points for Wilson Central while Malcolm St. Louis had 16.

MJCA cools off TN Heat
MT. JULIET -- Mt. Juliet Christian’s Saints improved to 9-1 on the season by ripping the visiting Tennessee Heat 64-37 Monday night.
Post man Ben Wankle poured in 23 points for MJCA while Grant Keen knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points.
