Betty Rushing tennis camp -- The 10th annual Betty Rushing Tennis Camp will run for five Saturdays from May 29 - June 26 at the Buddy Maddox Tennis Courts in Baird Park. Elementary and junior novice (beginners) will go from 10-11:30 a.m. and high school (advanced) players from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Fee is $40 per camper. Advanced registration is advised by calling Coach David Howell at 202-8817 or Nancy Lee at 449-0303. The camp is held each year in memory of the late Betty Rushing, longtime Lebanon High tennis coach.

Realtors Bass Classic -- The Eastern Middle Tennessee Association Of Realtors will host the 18th annual Realtors Bass Classic Saturday, June 5 at Bulls Creek Launch on Old Hickory Lake. Watertown basketball camps -- Watertown High varsity coaches Matt Bradshaw and Lane Price will hold a basketball camp June 7-10 at the WHS gymnasium. Designed for children in grades 2-7, the girls camp is set for 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. followed by the boys 12 Noon - 3 p.m. Cost per camper is $50. For a registration form, send an email to

Junior golf tourney at HP -- Hunters Point will hold the annual Coca-Cola Junior Golf Tournament Wednesday, June 9 and Thursday, June 10.  Entry fee is $29 for ages 11 and up, and $15 for ages 10 and under. Age Divisions are 10 & under (3 holes Wednesday, June 9), 11 & 12 (9 holes each day), 13 to 15 (9 holes each day), 16 & 17 (18 holes each day). Lunch will be served daily. Sean Putman Memorial -- The fifth annual Sean Putman Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, June 14 at Five Oaks Country Club. A nine-hole recreational round for golfers 12 & under will tee-off at 8 a.m. followed by a four-man scramble at 1 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Sean Putman Memorial Scholarship Fund at Cumberland University providing educational opportunities for Wilson County high school graduates. Main event fees: $125 per player ($500 per team). Junior event fees: $25 per player (12 and under) and $25 per accompanying or playing adult. Lebanon Jr. Pro football -- Registration for the fall 2010 season of City of Lebanon Junior Pro Football are now being accepted at the Harold Dean Greer Recreation Building in the Baird Park Complex. The City of Lebanon has sponsored junior pro football since the late 1970s with a junior league for kids ages 7, 8 and 9 and a senior league for players 10, 11 and 12. Registration cost for the Junior Pro League is $30 per player which includes a jersey and a post-season trophy. For more information, call the Recreation Department at 449-0303.

CU baseball camps -- Cumberland University will hold five baseball camps this summer starting June 7 at Stockton Field and Benton Jennings Indoor Hitting Facility on the CU campus. A pair of hitting camps are set June 7-10, with Session I for ages 6-9 (9 a.m.-Noon) and Session II for ages 10-12 (1-4 p.m.). The Fundamental Camp is June 14-17 (9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.) for ages 8-14. The Pitching Camp will take place June 21-24 from 9 a.m.-Noon for ages 8-14, while an Advanced Fundamental Camp will be held July 5-8 from 9 a.m.-Noon for ages 13-18. CU sports hall of fame -- The Cumberland University Athletic Department is now accepting nominations for the Class of 2010 Sports Hall of Fame.  Nominations must be made in writing and include full justification for the nomination, including statistics, honors, awards, and any other pertinent information pertaining to the nominee. Nominations will be accepted through June 1. A prerequisite for induction into the Sports Hall of Fame is the ability of the nominee to attend the induction dinner. Local fastpitch camps -- Cedar Creek Sports / Tennessee Lightning 97 will hold summer camps for girls fast-pitch softball.  Pitching camps will start in late May and run through August for girls ages 6-8, 10-12 and 12 and up. Bring your own catcher, classes will be no more the three girls per session. IPFW pitching coach Mandy Laurers will be head instructor. Cost for ten classes is $200 with a $100 deposit before the first lesson. Hitting camps will be held Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at Cedar Creek Sports in Mt Juliet. Classes will be an hour $20 per lesson. Coach Mickey Sheppard will be working with several area instructors as well as Billy Johnson of Maryland and Dean Wilkerson of Virginia. Tennessee Lighting will hold a three day defensive camp in June with a focus on infield, outfield, base running, bunting catching and throwing.
