WCHS football golf tourney --
Wilson Central High's Quarterback Club is hosting a fund-raising golf scramble Saturday, April 11 at the Pine Creek Golf Course. A 1:30 p.m. shotgun start is planned and includes a dinner catered by Corky's Barbeque. Entry fee is $85 for singles, $300 for a four-member team. proceeds benefit WCHS football.

CU football holds tryouts
LEBANON -- Cumberland University football is inviting 2015 seniors who have not yet made a college decision and are interested in playing collegiate football to a tryout 11 a.m. Saturday May 2, at Nokes-Lasater Field. All players attending must have a minimum 2.5 overall grade-point-average and an 18 on the ACT, no exceptions. There is the possibility for athletic grant-in-aids, with additional money awarded to students with a 3.0 GPA and a 22 ACT. All participants should bring cleats and gym shoes and dress for skill tests and drills. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. at Nokes-Lasater Field, which is located at 418 Harding Drive, Lebanon. Players are encouraged to contact the football office if they plan to attend the workout. Two-man golf scramble
Hunters Point golf Course will hold a two-man scramble Saturday and Sunday, April 11 and 12. Entry fee is $100 per team (carts not included), but green fees for a practice round is included. Commander run set April 11
The 4th annual Commander Run will be held Saturday, April 11. Proceeds will benefit the Commanders Club and Topsiders Parent Organization. The 5K cross country run will begin at 8 a.m. The 5K and 10K obstacle runs will start in heats beginning at 8:30 a.m. Registration is available at Active.com.

MJ youth football clinic
Former professional quarterback Levi Brown will conduct the Mt. Juliet Youth Football Clinic June 22-26. The clinic is for boys ages 8-13 and will be held 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Cost is $250 for the week with $50 required to reserve a spot. For more information, visit mjfootballclinic.com.

Lifeguard training at JFFC
American Red Cross Life Guard training is being offered at the Jimmy Floyd Family Center for ages 15 and older. Sign up at jffc-swim.com or call Cindy Baker at 615-453-4545, ext. 6018.
