Saturday, June 9

Long Hunter:Junior Ranger Water Program: Rain Gaugeat 2 p.m.Make your own rain gauge to use at home and learn about the incredible journey of water. Bring empty and clean 2 liter plastic bottles if you can. Meet at the park office. Limit of 25. Call 885-2422 to register.

Cedars of Lebanon: 9 a.m. Trail Day Project.Join us for a day to help our park clear trails of overgrowth. The first 24 volunteers will receive free t-shirts. Bring plenty of water, a packed lunch, and a mind to work! Please wear sturdy shoes, bug spray, and long pants. We appreciate your help!

10:30 a.m. Ravenous Reptiles.Meet Jen at the Nature Center to take a look at our snakes and lizards. Learn about their eating habits, where they like to live, and why they are important.

3 p.m. Marble Madness!.Join Jen at the Nature Center to learn why marbles was such a popular game in the past, and why its coming back.

Sunday, June 10

Cedars of Lebanon: Edible Plants at1 p.m.Whats for lunch? Meet Garrett at the Nature Center to find out which plants can help keep you alive, and which plants will harm you. You may be surprised.

Long Hunter: Mountain Bike Trail Hikeat 8:30 a.m.Long Hunters only bike accessible trail features a wide variety of habitats and also offers some exceptional views of Percy Priest Lake from atop Bald Knob. This trail is 4 miles long, so pack water, sunscreen, and bug spray and wear sturdy shoes. Meet at the Jones Mill Mtn. Bike Trail parking lot on Barnett Rd. Please call the park office for directions at 885-2422.

Junior Ranger Plant Program: Nature Journalsat 2:30 p.m.Create your own nature journal out of recyclable materials. Then go on a walk to look for inspiration. Meet at the park office in Area 1. Ages 6+. Limit 20. Call the park office to sign up at 885-2422. Reservations begin June 3rd.

Monday, June 11

Cedars of Lebanon: Caterpillars and Butterflies at2 p.m.Join Garrett at the Nature Center and meet one of the strangest-looking creatures youll ever see, the amazing cecropia caterpillar!Find them on Facebook,

Wednesday, June 13

Long Hunter: Junior Ranger Wildlife Program: Birdsat 6 p.m.Birds have many different types of beaks for feeding. Come try to figure out the correct food source for each beak while learning about other challenges birds face out in the wild. Ages 6+.

Friday, June 15

Long Hunter: Creepy Crawliesat 7:30 p.m.Learn about the ecological roles played by spiders and bats, and how they keep the park enjoyable for our guests. This night hike will be on the paved Lake trail in Area 2. Bring your flashlights, but no headlamps. Ages 12+. Children un-der 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Limit 25 people. Please call the park office at 885-2422 to register. Meet at the park office in Area 1 to receive a parking tag.
