Members of Omega Psi Phi, Earl Berry Jr. and Andre Davis, with the assistance of other families and individuals, took it upon themselves to give back during the holidays for the second year.

On Wednesday, Berry and Davis were joined by Cumberland University Football players Christopher Golden, DeAnthony Patrick, Damian Starks and Tyler Brown in delivering items to Brooks House, the Lebanon Senior Citizens Center and New Leash on Life.

At the Senior Center they donated $140 to assist in providing meals for seniors. They also donated 120 bars of soap and 120 bottles of hand-wash.

At Brooks House, they donated six cases of Tide laundry detergent, four cases of toilet paper, and three cases of paper towels.

They dropped off 500 servings of cat food to the animal shelter, New Leash on Life.

Berry said the tradition has started to honor loved ones who passed away, including his wife who died earlier this year of cancer.

"We did this last year and gave to Brooks House. It is something that my wife, Martina Massey, wanted to do, and after she passed away this year, we just wanted to keep it going," said Berry.

Berry added that donating to the Senior Center was a natural fit, since it is a place his father enjoyed.

"My dad used to come over here all the time when he was living," he said. "It was my daughter, Que' Asia Berry's idea."
