NASHVILLE -- Lebanon High’s Mark Britt and Friendship Christian School’s Ashlyn Pittman broke into the top 20 of their respective races at Saturday’s TSSAA state cross country meet at the Steeplechase / Percey Warner Park.
Britt, the Region 5AAA runner-up, completed the course in a time of 16:37, finishing 17th and helping the Blue Devils to a 16th place finish with 427 points.
Pittman, eighth grader, placed 19th out of 60 runners in the DII-A girls meet Saturday -- running a 22:47.
Class AAA boys
Wilson Central ninth grader John Elrod placed 56th with a time of 17:30.
Lebanon runners placing included: Caleb Kawasaki, 100th at 18:12; Anthony Reeves, 116th at 18:20; Austin Montgomery, 119th at 18:22; Stephen Burns, 154th at 19:01; Deiontae Sullivan, 176th at 19:43 and Cole Langford, 184th at 20:17.
Class AAA girls
Wilson Central junior Taylor Blankenship placed 84th with a time of 21:23.
Lebanon sophomore Caitlyn Strickland finished right on Blankenship's heels to finish 85th with a time of 21:25.
Division II, Class A girls
Also for FCS, Brooke Groff was 23rd at 23:07; Zoe Kane was 30th at 23:36; Haley Bogner was 45th at 24:46; Rachel Heronimus was 54th at 26:10; Carlee Ilias was 57th at 26:21 and Alex Pulliam placed 60th with a time of 28:19.
FCS finished sixth out of eight teams with 149 points.
