The Lebanon Police Department has released a sketch of the individual responsible for a reported rape in East Lebanon earlier this week.

The suspect is described as a black male, age 20 to 25, with short, fuzzy-type hair, a piercing in his lower lip and acne-type scars on his face. Lebanon Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the LPD at (615) 44-2323. The LPD contacted the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, which assisted by providing a sketch artist who worked with the victim.

"Our department is taking every measure to solve this crime," LPD Chief Mike Justice said. "This type of egregious act will not be tolerated in our community."

The suspect allegedly raped a local 18-year-old female in a small wooded area at the corner of East Spring Street and Park Avenue on Tuesday. The victim was walking through the wooded area when she was attacked by the suspect and raped. The suspect fled on foot, and police are working to identify him.
