They found the victim, Devin W. Allen, 30, had been shot twice reportedly by his brother-in-law, Chalderon Lebrock Williams, 21.

There some type of family dispute, Bowen said, then the brother-in-law decided to get involved.

Williams reportedly fled the scene prior to officers arriving, but he surrendered later without incident at his residence at 5 Head Homes. Officers recovered a 9mm Ruger handgun.

Allen was struck in his leg and hip and was transported to University Medical Center and then to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition.

Williams was charged with Aggravated Assault and booked into the Wilson County Jail. He was released after posting a bond of $2,050 and is to appear in court on Feb. 7.
