March's madness- snow, ice to return

If you haven't been to the grocery store yet - now is the time.

According to Matt Reagan, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Old Hickory, snow and ice is on its way.

Reagan said Wilson County can expect rain during the daylight hours on Wednesday, which will transition into freezing rain and sleet as night falls.

"Eventually it will turn to snow," he said. "The arctic cold front is pushing through."

Reagan said that exact accumulations are not certain; however, "We feel confident that we will see some travel impacts on Wednesday night and Thursday."

He added that the temperature will sink into single digits on Thursday night.

"Whatever accumulation we get will stick around, which I know people are sick of," he said. "But Friday the temperature will be in the mid-30s and on Saturday the mid-to-upper 40s."
