Mary Alice McKnight, 76

MURFREESBORO -- Mary Alice (King) McKnight, age 76, of Murfreesboro, passed away on February 9, 2009 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Rutherford Countym she was a homemaker and member of Hillview Baptist Church.

Her husband Charles pastored several churches in Wilson County, including Fall Creek Baptist 1967-1970.

Mrs. McKnight is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Berbie King; one brother, Carson King; and two sisters, Lucy Sloan and Joyce Florida; and granddaughter, Mary Lynn McKnight.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Charles McKnight; children Debby (Thomas) Rowlette, Angela (Travis) Pitts and Bobby (Lonnie) McKnight; sisters Mary Drucilla King, Erma Lannom, Eunice Givens, and Oneita (Henry) Higgins; and grandchildren Michelle (Raymond) Davy, Stephanie (Jonathan) Pitt, and Caylee Pitts; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. McKnight will be 1 p.m. Thursday February 12, at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with W.D. Thomason officiating.

Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be deacons of Hillview Baptist Church: Carl McKnight, Raymond Davy, Jonathan Pitt, Jimmy Todd, and Eddie Jernigan.
