LEBANON -- Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, Feb. 8 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mrs. Armstrong, 56, of Lebanon.
Born April 16, 1954, in Wilson County, to the late Ruffus and Frances Riggan Stewart, she died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at the St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
She was a 1972 graduate of Lebanon High School and received her Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Middle Tennessee State University.
Mrs. Armstrong was a member of the Westland United Methodist Church. She had worked for the Tennessee Department of Human Services for 34 years.
Services were conducted by Dr. Tom Binford and Rev. Brent Davis. Interment followed at the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include: husband Steve Armstrong whom she married on June 29, 1984; son Patrick Armstrong of Clarksville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kay and Brian Wallace of Hendersonville.
Honorary pallbearers: Westland United Methodist Church Family, 1972 Class of Lebanon High School, along with the current and former co-workers of the Department of Human Services.
Active: Steve Combs, Tommy Callis, Eddie Callis, Steve Havron, Ricky Scott, Randal Grigsby, Jerry Mason and Chip Carter.
Memorials may be made to the Christian Women’s Group of Westland United Methodist Church.
