Cumberland University senior Harry Mason was named First Team All-Mid-South Conference and senior Luke Wilson earned Second Team honors, as voted on by the league coaches and announced by the conference office Wednesday.
Mason ranks third in the Mid-South Conference with 17 goals and 39 points. The Sutton Coldfield, England, native ranks tied for 13th nationally in goals and tied for 19th in points. The striker netted eight of his 17 goals against league teams, including two each versus St. Catharine College and Bluefield College, and posted five goals in an early-season match at Brescia University.
Mason was the only player on the first team not from Campbellsville University, Lindsey Wilson or the University of Rio Grande. He was a First Team All-MSC selection last season and earned Second Team All-TranSouth Conference honors as a sophomore. He has scored 57 goals in 70 career outings heading into Thursday’s semifinals in the MSC Conference Tournament against No. 2 Lindsey Wilson.
Wilson posted four goals and three assists this season while playing mostly on the backline until late in the year.
The Birmingham, England, native netted two goals and two assists versus Bluefield and registered one goal against Campbellsville and Brescia.
He was also a Second Team All-TranSouth Conference selection as a sophomore.
The Bulldogs play at 5 p.m. Central Time at Lindsey Wilson on Thursday and would with a victory take on the winner of Rio Grande-Campbellsville in the championship match at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
