May 3 funeral planned for Bill Patton

MT. JULIET -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3 at the Victory Baptist Church for Mr. William L. "Bill" Patton, 76.

A long-time resident of Mt. Juliet and a former 16-year member of the Wilson County Commission, Mr. Patton died April 30, 2015

Born in Watertown to the late Thomas William and Maymie Lee Patton, Mr. Patton served in the U.S. Air Force.

He worked for Western Electric for more than 30 years and retired from AT&T and was an active member of the Wilson County Farmer's Co-Op, Wilson County Fair Board, Wilson County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, The Cattleman's Association as well as various other community organizations.

In addition to his tenure on the Wilson County Commission, he was elected to one term on the Mt. Juliet City Commission in the 1980s.

Visitation will be held at Victory Baptist Church between the hours of 3-7 p.m. Saturday, May 2 and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral.

Survivors include: his wife of 56 years Faye James Patton; children Lisa (Eric) Wheeler, Lora Patton (Chad Barnard) Hall and Lyle (Julie) Patton.

Also surviving are grandchildren: Madeline, Brenna and Eli Wheeler; Taylor and Tucker Hall; Aaron (Danielle) Sellars, Alex and Will Patton; sister Patsy (Jim) Emery, brother Tommy (Loretta) Patton and aunt Janet (Tommie) Swift.

Mt. Juliet's Bond Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
