Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto's Executive Assistant Rachel Warren has decided to retire after holding the position for the past 16 years.

Warren began work for Wilson County Government in the Property Assessor's Office 23 years ago. She worked with former Property Assessor Robert Dedman. When Dedman was elected County Mayor in 1998, he hired Warren as his executive assistant.

"Wilson County Government is the only place I've worked. Before that I didn't work other than at home being a wife and mother," she said. Her last day on the job will be Friday, Jan. 2, 2015.

"I am looking forward to doing some traveling and spending time with my family," she said of retirement.

The job has been posted and the Mayor will conduct interviews soon.
