Overton 2, Golden Bears 1 (OT)
MT. JULIET -- Nashville Overton snapped Mt. Juliet High’s eight-game winning streak and kept the Golden Bears at home for Spring Fling with a 2-1 overtime victory Saturday, May 17 in a Class AAA sectional.
    
Mt. Juliet broke open a scoreless game as senior Cameron Woodfin found the back of the net off a pass from Chase Earles in the 46th minute.
    
Overton tied the game at 1-1 on a goal from Victor Tsado with 11:55 left in regulation, forcing the extra time.
    
Herson Mejicano’s header with four minutes remaining in overtime gave the Bobcats (14-5-4) the victory.
    
Mt. Juliet’s Dylan Cole was spectacular in goal, turning away 14 Bobcat shots.
    
Champions of both the District 9-AAA and Region 5-AAA tournaments, Mt. Juliet closed out the 2014 season with a record of 16-5 overall.
