MJ sweeps Hendersonville

HENDERSONVILLE -- Overcoming a sluggish start, Mt. Juliet’s Lady Bears downed Hendersonville 48-39 Monday in a District 9-AAA makeup game. The victory marked the 11th win in a row for Coach Chris Fryer’s team -- moving the squad to 16-1 overall and a perfect 8-0 in the district.

Ranked No. 4 in Class AAA, Mt. Juliet led 19-10 after one period and just 24-20 at intermission.

Raeyana DeGray paced the Lady Bears with 19 points while Sally McCabe added 15. Ronjanae DeGray chipped in with seven and Tyia Waller had four points.

Mt. Juliet returns to District 9-AAA play tonight at home against Gallatin High and then travels Friday to take on Portland.

HENDERSONVILLE -- Senior Reagan Johnson’s 14 points led the way Monday night as Mt. Juliet held off Hendersonville High 47-38 in a District 9-AAA contest. The Golden Bears improved to 5-3 in the district and 11-8 on the season.

Daniel Schroder had 11 points for Mt. Juliet while John Mark Bell drilled a pair of 3-pointers to finish with seven.
