Two Rivers Ford presents the 7th Annual Turkey Trot 5K and Family Fun Run on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 24.

The 5K Run/Walk starts at 8 a.m. and the 1-mile Family Fun Run begins at 8:30 a.m. from Two Rivers Ford located at 76 Belinda Parkway in Mt. Juliet. Registration for the 5K Run/Walk is $35 and the 1-Mile Fun Run is $20. The 5K course is a USA Track and Field certified road course through the Providence area that will begin and end at Two Rivers Ford.

Friendly and well-socialized, leashed dogs and strollers are welcome at the back of the pack. The first 200 dogs present will receive a special race-day bandanna. Be sure to wear your best "turkey" get-ups if you dare.

Runners and walkers may pre-register online at www.reg2run.com through midnight, Monday, Nov. 21. Race Day registration will open at 6:30 a.m. on-site, but pre-registration is highly recommended and encouraged. More information is available at www.turkeytrot5k.org.

Prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 male and female winners in 5-year age group, as well as overall awards to the top male and female winners.

"This event is always a great way to start the holiday season. Come on out, spend a little time with the family, work off a few pre-holiday-meal calories and celebrate the start of the season by giving by doing something that will bring your family together and help raise funds for animals in need," remarked event organizer Amy Haverstick.

The event is presented by Two Rivers Ford, and features sponsors The Trailer Depot, Yard Dog Fencing and Decks, Crockett Surveying and Home Run Pet Care.

Funds will benefit Compassion in Action of Tennessee, a non-profit organization based in Middle Tennessee dedicated to improving the welfare of animals in our communities through rescue, spay/neuter, education and awareness.
