We know that caring for children in difficult circumstances through our court system is a long process and Zaxby's wants to encourage and support their worthy efforts, Cox said. The advocates that CASA provides bring much needed stability, care and attention to the children in times of their greatest need.
Wilson County CASAs volunteers serve as court advocates for children who are in foster care or who are at-risk of coming into foster care. Last year, volunteers donated more than 4,000 hours of their time to provide advocacy for 265 abused and neglected children in Wilson County.
CASA has served the children of Wilson County since 1987, however because of the confidentiality surrounding the work that we do many people are unaware of CASA or its mission, so Rachels call was a welcomed surprise, said Laura Swanson, Wilson County CASA executive director.
One great thing about Zaxby's and CASA partnering is that its mission statement is right in line with exactly what CASA does, Swanson added.
Zaxby's mission is to consistently create encore experiences that enrich lives one person at a time. We hope everyone can join us on June 18 as we do just that, Cox said. This fundraiser is our way of thanking CASA for blessing our community."
