MJCA hosts 'Coming Home' tonight

MT. JULIET -- Mt. Juliet Christian Academy's boys basketball team will try to bounce back from a heart-breaking loss tonight as the Saints host St. Andrew's-Sewanee in a TSSAA Division II contest.

Trousdale County's Christian Lauderdale was a one-man wrecking crew for Trousdale County in Thursday's 44-43 win over MJ Christian.

Lauderdale heaved in a three-quarter court bomb at the end of the first period to give the Yellowjackets a 17-10 lead, then hit a buzzer beating game-winner on a halfcourt shot.

MJCA's Zack Jones had 19 points to lead all scorers while teammate Newman Ward dropped in 10. Alex Graves chipped in with seven for the Saints, who fell to 9-11 with the loss.

Lauderdale and Ricky Harrison led Trousdale County with 18 points each.

MT. JULIET -- Lauren Wankle had 13 points and Amanda Wall finished with 11 as Mt. Juliet Christian Academy rallied for a 37-32 home win over Trousdale County Thursday night.

The Lady Saints (11-9 overall) trailed 20-16 at intermission and 26-24 headed into the final period.

The MJCA vs. St. Andrew's-Sewanee game will tip at 6 p.m. tonight, with the Saints celebrating "Coming Home" festivities between games.
