The Mt. Juliet High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter was recently recognized in the 2016 National Chapter Award Program from the national FFA organization.
The MJHS chapter was named a two-star chapter. The program recognizes outstanding FFA chapters from throughout the country that successfully complete an annual set of required activities that encourage members to grow as individuals, work as a team and serve others in their communities.
Chapters that received star ratings during judging in July will be recognized at the 2016 National FFA Convention & Expo on Oct. 19 through 22 in Indianapolis. All star FFA chapters receive honors made possible by corporate sponsor John Deere.
"Feeding some nine billion people by mid-century brings with it unprecedented challenges for today's farmers," said Amy Allen, manager of national corporate contributions for John Deere. "The skills and experiences learned through the National Chapter Award Program will help meet the critical needs."
