While Mt. Juliet's restaurant business continues to boom, one restaurant slated to open next month is an all-time family favorite, geared especially for the kiddos.

Dubbed an "American family entertainment center," Chuck E. Cheese's will open on Belinda Parkway in south Mt. Juliet Dec. 22. It is their largest restaurant in the Middle Tennessee area at 14,000-square feet.

This nationally known, sit-down pizza restaurant, complete with arcade games, amusement rides, an animatronic show and many other diversions will join 577 others across the world.

However, a Chuck E. Cheese's spokesperson said Mt. Juliet was an obvious place to open the popular restaurant.

"As one of Tennessee's fastest growing communities, Mt. Juliet is experiencing an exciting period of development and we're thrilled our newest Chuck E. Cheese's location is part of this," said Michelle Chism, Chuck E. Cheese's director of corporate communications. "We look forward to serving the many young families anxious for opportunities for clean, safe, whole family fun."

Along with the rides and arcade games, there will be climbing equipment, tubes and slides. The brand is represented by "Chuck E. Cheese" that is an anthropomorphic mouse.

They're not too many parents who aren't familiar with the restaurant that was founded in 1977 by Nolan Bushnell, who had experience in the amusement park industry and had a love of the Walt Disney Company. It's a famous birthday venue.

Chism said this latest restaurant has their newest interior décor package and feature a "circle of lights" stage and a fully digital, screen-based entertainment package showcasing the updated Chuck E. Cheese rock star character voiced by "Bowling for Soup" frontman Jaret Reddick.

While there's already a veteran management team in place, recently 40 employees were hired, however, their goal is to hire 20 more. There's a trailer set up by the restaurant for those who wish to apply.

The restaurant is near Two Rivers Ford on Belinda Parkway.
