Four Wilson County schools played Monday night, Jan. 27. Here's a look at the results.
(girls) Pickett Co. 60, Watertown 49
BYRDSTOWN -- Watertown's Tigerettes dropped to 14-8 on the season following Monday night's 60-49 loss at Pickett County.
Alicia Jennings led Watertown with 10 points and Jasmine High finished with eight.
(boys) Pickett Co. 63, Watertown 59
BYRDSTOWN -- Watertown slipped to 10-11 on the season following a tough 63-59 loss at Pickett County Monday.
The Purple Tigers were clinging to a 30-27 lead at intermission, only to see the Bobcats outscore them by seven in the second half. Dylan Speck led Watertown with 17 points and Ty Jobe added 15.
Watertown is scheduled to host Goodpasture Friday, Jan. 24.
(girls) Hendersonville 56, Wilson Central 36
HENDERSONVILLE -- Bolting out of the gates with a 17-2 run, Hendersonville was never threatened in Monday night’s 56-36 victory over Wilson Central.
Kayla Jackson, Dominique St. Louis and Kendall Spray topped the WCHS scoring column with six points apiece.
The Lady Wildcats dropped to 14-7 overall and 5-5 in District 9-AAA.
(boys) Wilson Central 61, Wilson Central 51
HENDERSONVILLE -- Wilson Central continued a run of consistent play with 61-51 win Monday night over Hendersonville High.
Three Wildcats broke into double figures, led by Jacob Williams with 15, Ben Palmer with 12 and Jon Rosshirt with 11. WCHS pulled away in the fourth quarter after leading by three -- 46-43 after three periods.
Coach Troy Bond’s team has now won five out of the last six games -- all within the district. The Wildcats stand 16-5 overall and all alone atop the 9-AAA standings with a record of 8-2.
Wilson Central will host Station Camp Friday, Jan. 31 -- the last district team to down the Wildcats back on Jan. 22.
(girls) Webb 44, MJ Christian 39 (OT)
MT. JULIET -- Webb School outscored host Mt. Juliet Christian 10-5 in overtime Monday to escape with a 44-39 victory over the Lady Saints.
Amanda Wall led MJCA with nine points while Lauren Wankel and Carly Hummel each scored eight.
The Lady Saints fell to 2-3 in the East-Middle District and 12-10 overall.
(boys) Webb 55, MJCA 46
MT. JULIET -- A late Mt. Juliet Christian rally fell short Monday night in a 55-46 home loss to The Webb School out of Bell Buckle.
The Saints trailed 45-27 after three, but outscored the Feet 19-10 in the final quarter to cut the final margin to nine points. Zack Jones led the way with 16 points while Justus Willis added 12 points -- including three 3-pointers.
MJCA dropped to 10-12 on the season with the loss. The Saints are scheduled to host DCA Friday, Jan. 31.
(girls) Donelson Christian 31, Friendship 30
LEBANON -- Donelson Christian came all the way back from a 17-point halftime hole to down Friendship Christian 31-30 Monday at the Bay Family Sportsplex.
The Lady Commanders were outscored 26-8 in the second half and dropped to 3-3 in the East-Middle District / 6-11 overall. Abbey Hinton led FCS with nine points while Taylor Petterson chipped in with eight.
Friendship will host Knox Webb Friday, Jan. 24.
(boys) Donelson Christian 50, Friendship 28
LEBANON -- Visiting Donelson Christian went on a 17-4 second quarter run to outdistance Friendship Christian 50-28 at the Bay Family Sportsplex.
The Commanders fell to 1-16 with the loss, headed into Friday’s home finale vs. Knox Webb.
Andrew Wood led FCS with 16 points. Joseph McNamee chipped in with five points and Colton Gaines added four.
